Best Padded Sports Bras For Women 2019

The Best Padded Sports Bra for most women is the Fittin Padded Sports Bra.

This wire free sports bra is built with high intensity in mind and provides seamless support and comes in fun vibrant colors.

Fittin understands how a woman’s body curves so they designed a bra to capture that while still being supportive and comfortable.

The fabric itself is lightweight and breathable with an elastic band to hold it in place as you move. The quality of stitching is outstanding even after a few cycles in the washer.

If the Fittin Padded Bra is unavailable or out of stock for some reason, Nike’s Women Pro Classic is our runner-up. Read the in-depth review below.

Best Padded Sports Bras For Women 2019

#1 Fittin Padded Sports Bras ( Wire Free High Impact Support Seamless Yoga bra )

This specific design was created with the hardcore workout enthusiast in mind.

For those of you who are involved in kickboxing, pilates, yoga, spinning, or weight training this bra was specifically designed to hold everything in place with a firm, comfortable fit.

The pads are removable if you’re more comfortable without them but for the high impact, it is best to keep the padding in for extra support.

Size wise this is the best padded sports bra with the easiest size chart to read as they go by the waistband instead of cup size. For those with a band size between 30-32, they recommend a small which can hold up to a 32D comfortably. Mediums range between 32-34 and larger are for 34-36. The elasticity of the fabric allows all cup sizes to be held firmly in place while the band is fit to encompass the natural curves without squeezing too tight and leaving a painful mark like some bras do.

What we liked:

  • Soaks up sweat
  • Breathable Fabric
  • Machine Washable
  • Removable Padding

What we didn’t like:

  • Better for smaller cup sizes

#2 Nike Womens Pro Classic Padded Sports Bra

Number two on our list is Nike’s Women Pro Classic. Of course, Nike is a well-known sports brand for men but don’t count them out just yet.

This simple sports bra holds many redeeming qualities that prove it was made with women in mind. This bra is meant for medium impacts like cycling, dance, or cardio classes and comes in fifteen different colors. Inside the soft material is their Dri-FIT material and mesh lining created to wipe away sweat and keep your skin dry while you work out.

Did I mention the colors? Being active doesn’t mean we have to throw away our personal style and Nike seems to understand some women like wearing bright colored sports bras while hitting the punching bag. This bra has options ranging from solid white to onyx black, a few orange hues thrown in between and some pastel colors with vivid neon colors as well.

While this bra was created for the medium impact we discovered that it is a great bra to use when you’re actually playing sports. Softball and basketball involve a good deal of movement and this bra passed the test with flying colors. The padding is heavy enough to keep everything in place but the stretchable material gives you full mobility without enduring the pain of fabric scratching at your shoulder while you move. If the padding happens to get in the way or it is just not your style it is easy to remove and doesn’t ruin the look or shape of the bra.

What we liked:

  • Accurate sizing and fit
  • Comfortable and flexible material
  • Works perfectly while used during sports
  • Mesh material provides breathing room

What we didn’t like:

  • Padding sometimes gets loose during washing

#3 Sofra Women’s 6 Pack Seamless Racerback Padded Bras

Two is always better than one at least when it comes to clothing which is why we fell in love with Sofra’s six pack of padded bras. They’re colorful, lightweight, machine washable and come in a universal size that fits most women. Because of the universal sizing, the material is made from a mix of soft nylon and stretchy spandex to give it the perfect fit for nearly all sizes.

While the company hasn’t given it a definitive ranking we consider this bra to be a medium impact bra. It’s perfect for yoga, pilates, strength training, and average gym workouts. It molds to your body shape so well you almost forget you’re wearing a bra but it still holds everything securely in place while you’re on the go. This padded bra was definitely built with comfort in mind.

What we liked:

  • Stretchable material
  • Fits nearly all cup and band sizes
  • Lightweight and supportive
  • Machine washable

What we didn’t like:

  • Doesn’t soak up sweat very well

#4 La Isla Women’s Padded Wire Free Cool-look Criss Cross Back Yoga Sports Bra

Next up is for yoga lovers out there who need a good sports bra but not one built for heavy duty cardio or weight training.

This bra by La Isla is perfect for low impact activities including yoga, pilates, or pole fitness and it comes in a very cute and fashionable design. These brightly covered padded bras have four straps running vertically down your back with a low cut in the front which makes them perfect to wear beneath a tank top or t-shirt. The material used for this bra is similar to what a swimsuit is made out of which is a bit of a twist but they’re still comfortable and soft to the touch.

Remember these bras are not made for high impact and will seem less supportive if you try doing medium or high impact workouts. They are quite cute and come in a variety of bright colors but these adorable sports bras are not made to hold your chest in place while on an uphill run or during intense kickboxing. If you’re ready for some morning yoga or a nighttime walk then throw on these La Isla padded bras for a snug fit and comfortable coverage.

What we liked:

  • Breathable material
  • Cute colors and design
  • Comfortable padding
  • Moves well with your body

What we didn’t like:

  • Sizing isn’t exact

#5 Junior’s Racerback Push up Padded Thick Strap Bras Multiple Colors

Last but not lease we have Junior’s Racerback push up sports bra. We know what you’re thinking, why do you need a sports bra that doubles as a push-up bra?

Honestly, the support is better if you’ve got a bigger bust. The added padding is essential for those who don’t like their chest being suppressed while they’re working out, and this bra is a great alternative. It’s also the only bra on our list that comes with an underwire so we’ve labeled this one a low impact sports bra.

This can be used for an everyday bra which is an added bonus. It’s perfect for yoga, light jogging, weight lifting, and light cardio and provides good support for the movement. The thicker straps help maintain minimal bounce as long as you’re not trying to run a marathon in it. If your chest is on the smaller side it won’t give you much of a “push” but it still fits comfortably and gives you room to breathe while working out. It comes in a multitude of cute colors, a few with some striped patterns, and plain black and white.

What we liked

  • Thick straps for extra hold
  • Breathable fabric
  • Underwire didn’t affect comfort
  • Comfortable padding

What we didn’t like

  • Runs small

What are padded sports bras?

This collective list of the best-padded sports bras may have you asking why you need a sports bra with padding in the first place. Even light yoga routines require expansive body movements which can lead to slips especially if you’re wearing loose fitting clothing. Buying a bra with padding ensures your snug and secure beneath the fabric while still allowing you to move freely. It’s proven medically that too much bouncing can cause your breasts to sag prematurely, and adding a bit of padding can make a huge difference

How to Select the right size if you are choosing a padded sports bra?

If you’re ready to purchase a padded sports bra make sure you get the right size. Check the company’s chart size then check reviews on the product as well in case they happen to run a bit smaller or larger than normal bras.

What are the top brands when it comes to padded sports bras?

When it comes to brands the best-padded sports bras are created by actual sports stores like Nike, Champion, and Lululemon. This doesn’t mean other brands aren’t good and these top lines do come at a price. I usually prefer Amazon to buy bras, simply because of the wide range of products available and usually, the lowest price offered.

Is a padded bra better than other types of bras?

While padded bras offer many advantages especially while working out it doesn’t mean they’re superior to a regular sports bra. Some women prefer less padding but health wise it is better to have more support. If you’re doing hardcore workouts daily then a padded bra offers more support, comfort, and durability than one without.
